Rihanna Channels Iconic Sopranos Vibes in Latest Fashion Ensemble

Apologies, Carmela, but Rihanna and I have moved on from the mob-wife aesthetic. According to my friend, we’re fully embracing the style of Adriana La Cerva, the quintessential mob girlfriend. Capisce?!

On Thursday, April 11, Rihanna stepped out in an ensemble that would surely make Christafa’s girlfriend swoon with delight. (That’s a pun for Sopranos fans, and means absolutely nothing if you haven’t seen the show.) Can you imagine how much Ms. Adriana would adore this mix of animal prints, bleached blonde locks, layered jewels, and fur?

The Hollywood Curtain/Bauer-Griffin

While visiting Hollywood hotspot The Nice Guy, Rihanna wore a leopard-print miniskirt over sheer tights and topped the look with a floor-grazing leopard-print coat with shearling cuffs. To keep the early-’00s vibe alive, she accessorized with a furry clutch and killer black pointed-toe pumps. I just know RiRi had this photo of Adriana, played by Drea de Matteo, on her mood board.

Unlike the mob wife, the mob girlfriend is a little more playful, a little bit sexier. She is not yet hosting Sunday dinners with the family, and so has yet to trade in her animal-print jumpsuits for animal-print button-ups. Where they do align, however, is with impeccable taste in jewelry and terrible taste in men.

Rihanna, of course, is only playing dress-up. She’s way too busy being a billionaire to get caught up in the waste management business. Oh, and she buys her own jewels.
