Dua Lipa fans burst into laughter as she has an awkward encounter with a busker at Glastonbury.

Dua Lipa, headlining the Glastonbury Festival and performing on the Pyramid Stage Friday night, was approached by a busker while exploring Worthy Farm last week.

Glastonbury headliner Dua Lipa was approached by a busker during the festival, and the encounter has sparked reactions of awkwardness among viewers on social media.

Dua, aged 28, was one of the artists who graced the stage at Worthy Farm in Somerset last week for the five-day festival. She headlined the Pyramid Stage on Friday night, treating the audience to performances of hits like “Houdini” and “Levitating.”

While enjoying her time at the festival, the singer-songwriter was approached by musician Liam C. He posted a video showing himself asking Dua if he could perform a part of a song. Referencing her Disney+ docuseries “Camden,” he mentioned that he currently busks in the London borough.

Liam approaches the headliner carrying his guitar and introduces himself: “Hey Dua, sorry to interrupt. I’m Liam C, and I watched your Camden documentary—it was incredible. I’m currently busking around Camden, and I wanted to play you a 30-second snippet of my song. If you like it, I’d love to hear your thoughts.” Dua replies, “Sure.”

Afterwards, Dua is seen nodding along and smiling during his performance at the festival grounds. Eventually, she starts to walk away, remarking, “I love it, mate. It’s really good.” Liam asks for a hug, and she happily agrees before continuing on her way.

Liam recently posted the video on Instagram, captioning it with gratitude towards Dua for taking the time to listen to his tune. The video has sparked responses from viewers on the platform and others, including X. Some viewers described it as “awkward,” with one commenting, “She seemed eager to move on.” Another remarked, “That was quite awkward… it looked like she was in a hurry to leave.” Yet another joked, “Well, that was an awkward encounter.”

“Such cringe. That was painful,” reacted another person. Expressing their thoughts, someone commented, “That was so AWKWARD, man.” One fan remarked, “I’m crying, she didn’t give a single f***.” Another person stated, “I’m cringing so hard, I feel embarrassed for her.”

Others came to the defense of the Brit Award winner. One individual wrote, “Everyone saying she looked awkward. That’s a natural reaction when strangers sing in your face.” Someone else added, “She tried to be polite, but no one has to stand around forever for every random person who approaches.”

A third person mentioned, “She did more than enough. She looked awkward because someone was filming her. That’s a natural reaction, fame aside.” Another person said, “She seemed a bit uncomfortable, but she stopped and listened, which is more than most. Respect!”

“Poor Dua, that was so awkward and strange,” another commented on social media. One person humorously noted, “What’s truly remarkable is how this guy asked to play his cringey little song for 30 seconds, and at EXACTLY 30 seconds, Dua Lipa, no stopwatch in hand, just bails. Total pro move.”

Dua announced that she would be headling Glastonbury on the Friday night earlier this year. She said: “I have dreamt of this moment all my life. Something that lived only in my wildest dreams and highest manifestations. I am so excited.” Last week, Glastonbury organiser Emily Eavis, 44, revealed that Dua and fellow headliner SZA have helped fulfil a “passion project” for her. Whilst speaking to Lauren Laverne on BBC Radio 6 breakfast show, Emily said: “It’s the first year we’ve got two female headliners, which is something that has been a bit of a passion project for me. That’s a big one.”
