Dr. Dre receives star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame & reveals new Eminem album

The hip-hop legend was joined by some famous friends

He is undoubtedly one of the most iconic and influential figures in hip-hop – so it’s only right that Dr. Dre reaps the benefits of such a title.

The former N.W.A. rapper received his arguably long-overdue star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame yesterday, with the ceremony attracting so many people that Hollywood Boulevard had to be temporarily closed.

Dre appeared with his fellow rappers Snoop Dogg, Eminem and 50 Cent at the ceremony, and told the crowd: “Growing up in Compton, I never imagined that I would one day be represented here among some of my childhood heroes. I’ve been fortunate enough to make a living doing exactly what I love to do. How about that? Isn’t that the dream?”

Meanwhile, Snoop Dogg drew laughter from the crowd when he opened his speech by saying “I wanna thank me… I wanna thank me for taking the call from Warren (G) and Dr. Dre in 1991.”

Later that day, all four rappers appeared on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live! for an interview as well as a skit dubbed ‘Dre’s Anatomy’, where Dre revealed that a new Eminem album release is imminent.

On his first talk show appearance in 30 years, Dre said: “Eminem is working on his own album, which is coming out this year. He said it was okay for me to make an announcement right here on the show. I’m actually going to get the entire album for the first time tomorrow… I haven’t even heard anything complete that I’ve done, but I’m going to hear it and he’s putting out an album in 2024.”
